Dear friends and colleagues,
We would like to solicit scientific sessions proposals for ESC Congress 2021 taking place in London, United Kingdom. To generate a high-quality scientific content for basic and translational science, the Council on Basic Cardiovascular Science (CBCS) has developed a "Pre-Scope" process.
The submitted proposals will be evaluated by the CBCS members and selected, modified or merged to generate a comprehensive and matching list of proposals for the ESC SCOPE process. Further selection and refinement will be undertaken by the Congress Programme Committee upon obtaining the results of the SCOPE grading. All invitations will be sent out from the ESC, centrally.
In the past years this procedure has been very successful in delivering high-quality proposals to the ESC SCOPE process, ensuring a selection of the best for ESC Congress. Direct submissions of basic science session proposals to the SCOPE process by individuals are normally unsuccessful. We therefore strongly encourage you to contribute again to this process. To submit your proposals, simply click on the "Submit" button below.
You are required to give:
- A title for the session proposal
- Session topic and type
- Names and details of chairpersons (name, city, country, email)
- Titles for four presentations, names and details of speakers (exceptionally five may be proposed)
- Names of the respective speakers (ideally not more than two from the same country and none from the same lab - this also applies to the Chairs)
At this stage no agreement of the speakers and chairs is required.
The primary focus is on the scientific quality of the proposals and their suitability for ESC Congress attendees. This may be based on state-of-the-art, basic science content and/or relevant translational aspects.
Please submit by 22 July to allow us to screen, review and discuss your proposals. On behalf of the CBCS we would like to thank you in advance for your support.
With best regards,
Johannes Waltenberger, Chair of the Council on Basic Cardiovascular Science
Christian Weber, Vice-Chair – Jeremy Pearson, Past-Chair – Johann Wojta, Secretary – Imo Hoefer, Treasurer
Consult the "golden rules" to help you submit your proposals.
Don't forget to inform your colleagues of 35 years and under that if they submit a "bench" abstract for ESC Congress and it is accepted, the registration fee is waived.
