Sophia Antipolis, July 2024 - ESC and WHF announce collaboration for ESC Congress 2025 in Madrid

The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and the World Heart Federation (WHF) are thrilled to announce that ESC Congress 2025 in Madrid will be held in conjunction with the World Congress of Cardiology.

This union of two leading cardiology organisations underscores our commitment to fostering the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and best practices across the global cardiology community.

ESC Congress was held in conjunction with the World Congress of Cardiology in 2006 in Barcelona and 2019 in Paris. Both events were a resounding success, uniting the global cardiovascular community and shining a light on the fight for equitable cardiovascular health.

Notably, this collaboration will further highlight the critical issue that cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains the world’s leading cause of death, necessitating comprehensive Cardiovascular Health Plans on national, European, and global levels.

The WHF, ESC, and other major cardiovascular organisations are united in supporting a global petition to ensure that cardiovascular health is a priority on the political agenda. This initiative aligns with the focus of World Heart Day 2024.
