News from the Young Thrombosis Group - August 2022 update

By William AE Parker, on behalf of the ESC WG on Thrombosis Young Researchers

It has been a long time coming, but it is delightful to see the return of face-to-face conferences to the calendar. At the time of writing I have just returned from the 30th Congress of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis, held in London. This is, in fact, the first international meeting I have physically been present at since the ESC Heart and Stroke Meeting in January 2020, which was held in Barcelona. In our community, all eyes will once again be on that popular city as it hosts ESC Congress 2022 from 26 to 29 August this year. This meeting is, of course, guaranteed to be an unrivalled offering across the broad range of topics incorporated in the ESC’s impressive remit.

EuroThrombosis EuroVessels (ETEV) 2022

This year we are spoiled, as in addition to ESC Congress, we await the pleasure of EuroThrombosis and EuroVessels (ETEV) 2022. ETEV 2022 is a joint meeting of the Working Groups on Thrombosis and Aorta & Peripheral Vascular Diseases. It will be held from 20-22 October in the beautiful city of Lisbon. This promises to be a fantastic meeting, with world-class speakers on up-to-the-minute topics.

There are at least two ways that Young Members of the ESC can become directly involved in the meeting. We, the ESC WG on Thrombosis Young Researchers, are arranging a ‘Challenging Clinical Cases’ session and submissions are warmly invited. Similarly, there is a call for abstracts, not restricted to the young community, reporting original research. Submission to these categories is currently open and will now close on 22 August. Please consider submitting or simply attending to absorb the latest in the world of thrombosis care and research. Find out more
