ESC Working Group on Development, Anatomy & Pathology

Dear Members of our DAP working group,

We hope this newsletter reaches you in good health, and that you are able to enjoy the slow re-opening of your societies, as a result of the every-increasing numbers of people being vaccinated for COVID-19.

Nevertheless, the organization of physical meetings by the ESC is, and remains, heavily impacted. With pain in our hearts, we have to let you know that our annual meeting, planned for October 2021 in Bad Nauheim, has been cancelled. The leadership of the working group would like to apologize to the Bad Nauheim organizers that, despite their willingness, enthusiasm and relentlessness to organize this meeting, it had to be cancelled.

In 2022 we will not organize an annual meeting, because the International Weinstein Cardiovascular Development and Regeneration Meeting will be held in the "Palais du Pharo" in Marseille, France from May 12 to 14, 2022. At present we are exploring the possibilities of our working group to support the organizers, Stéphane Zaffran, Robert Kelly and Michel Puceat. We hope to finally meet you all in person again at this meeting, and that we can show that our working group is alive and promoting the field, even in these difficult times.

Best wishes,

Maurice J B van den Hoff, Bill Chaudhry and José Maria Pérez-Pomares
