Dear colleagues, dear friends,
We hope this newsletter finds you healthy and safe in this difficult time. Due to the COVID crisis we have not met in person, as our planned annual meeting had to be cancelled. We hope to be able to return to normal traveling and visiting other countries in the latter part of 2021 and have set the dates for our annual meeting as 13-15 October 2021 to be held in Bad Nauheim, Germany.
The Weinstein Cardiovascular Development & Regeneration meeting planned for May 2021 has also been cancelled, but we are very pleased to tell you that we have started to plan a joint annual ESC-WG DAP/Weinstein Meeting to be held on 12-14 May 2022 in Marseille, France, to be hosted by Michel Puceat, Stéphane Zaffran and Robert Kelly.
To bridge this long period without scientific meetings, our Young Community is planning to start a series of webinars. Keep an eye on our website and newsletter for announcements. Our American friends have already started to organize Weinstein Webinars around a scientific topic every six weeks. The first one will be held on “Cardiac Lineages and Heart Fields” on Friday, December 11, from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon, EST (Amsterdam time: 16.00-18.00). Future Weinstein Webinars are planned:
Late January: “Valve Formation and Vascular Development”
Early March: “Cardiac Regeneration”
Mid-April: “Genomic Architecture and Regulation of Gene Expression”
May: Culminating Event -- all topics welcome
To be included on the e-mail list for Weinstein Webinars and also to submit an abstract, send a mail to weinstein.conference@gmail.com.
On behalf of all Nucleus committee members we wish you and your loved ones a merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and scientifically productive new year!
Best wishes,
Maurice J B van den Hoff, Bill Chaudhry and José Maria Pérez-Pomares
