Editorial - October 2020

ESC Working Group on Cardiac Cellular Electrophysiology

Dear members,
Autumn just started, and – unfortunately - we are still facing very difficult and uncertain times. We hope that most of you are still able to continue their research, safely.
This is the first editorial with Ana María Gómez as Chair of our WG, supported by Jordi Heijman as Chair-Elect and all Nucleus members, including the newly elected Dan Johnson, Elisa Passini, Jose Jalife, Marketa Bebarova, and Morten Thomsen.
We started the preparations for the 2021 events, and in particular our next WG meeting, which will be held together with EHRA in March, and the ESC Congress at the end of August.
We are completing our Position Paper on experimental models for cardiac electrophysiology, which we hope to share with you and the whole community soon.
Finally, our WG decided to support again the Scientific Exchange Grants, given last year great success. These are to be used by our early career members to spend time abroad at another institute, to learn a new technique and strengthening collaborations. More details will be available soon.

I hope we will be able to meet soon, in person – take care!

On behalf of the Working Group nucleus,

Elisa Passini, Communication Coordinator 2020-2022
