Important update on EuroHeartCare 2020

Association of Cardiovascular Nursing & Allied Professions

It is with great regret that we must inform you that EuroHeartCare 2020, the annual scientific congress of the Association of Cardiovascular Nursing and Allied Professions (ACNAP), scheduled for 4-6 June in Seville, is cancelled.

The ESC and ACNAP leaderships have been closely following the rapid spread of COVID-19 and its impact on healthcare professionals, particularly, nurses and allied professionals who are on the front lines.

With severe measures being taken by hospitals to deal with the epidemic, a growing number of delegates have informed us that they are unable to travel. In addition, Spanish authorities have declared a lockdown to stop the spread of the infection.

As a result of these factors and because it is our responsibility to protect the health of our faculty, delegates and staff, the ACNAP board1 decided that cancelling the congress was the only responsible course of action. The congress will take place next year in the same venue, from 17 to 19 June.
