Summer was in the air in Nantes: Report of the “4eme week end commun et les arythmies cardiaques” meeting

by Dr. Albano Meli and Mr. Julien Barc (on behalf of the Réseau Avenir du GRRC)

In June, the 4th joint week-end meeting of the young French cardiologist and basic scientist communities was held in Nantes (France) on the topic “new insights into cardiac arrhythmia”.

Les arythmies cardiaques meeting.pngThe joint conference is a French annual meeting organized by the college of cardiologists in training (CCF) and the national network for young fellows in cardiovascular research (Réseau Avenir du GRRC*). This year, 46 researchers and clinicians met from June 29th-30th on the topic “cardiac arrhythmias”.

It was a great opportunity to meet young and more experienced clinicians and scientists in cardiovascular research and exchange on challenges, approaches and results. This meeting is a unique event, taking place on a human-scale and promoting networking between young cardiologists and researchers through oral presentations alternating clinical and basic science studies within the same session. We hope this will, in turn, promote translational research that depends on strong links between these communities.

This year, the congress was organized in Nantes by Dr. Julien Barc (Réseau Avenir du GRRC) and Dr. Jean-Baptiste Gourraud, and was overseen by Prof. Vincent Probst (Nantes Hospital Cardiology Department).
