What are the steps for joining?

1. Initial country meeting

This initial presentation aims to introduce the project, the current achievements, the short-term goals and the different milestones through the years of participation. This meeting is essential, laying the foundations for a new collaboration with a potential participating country.

2. Legal and internal verification

Following this meeting, the country will check the technical details leading to the participation in the Euroheart Project and the sharing of data for the annual report.

3. Choice of platform / Flowchart for dataset countries

Sharing the data for the project is possible through two different ways:

    • The Euroheart IT Platform, a robust and modular system, that provides a reliable foundation for clinical quality registries, including pre-built data entry forms, mandatory data sets and quality indicators.
    • The local IT-system, which requires the harmonisation with EuroHeart data standards, variable technical solutions and methods for data entry and feedback.

4. Evaluation process / Evaluation form / Template Letter of Intent

At this stage, potential participating countries will receive the Evaluation Form to complete. It will be valuable to understand the existing national/regional cardiovascular registry and the capacity of adopting the EuroHeart data variables, a core mandatory dataset with a limited number variables.

5. Follow-up country meeting / Evaluation form completed by country

Continuing the enrolment process, meetings with the project management team will take place to ensure that challenges are handled. The aim of these different stages is to reach the data sharing agreement.

6. Executive Committee Approval

The committee reviews the evaluation summary to establish a decision for the participation of the country.

7. Signature of the letter of intent / Letter of intent (LOI)

The Letter of Intent stands for an initial contract, setting forth the intents of the Parties for the purpose of pursuing the development of a National Quality Registry in accordance with the EuroHeart project. The purpose of this LOI is to define the conditions in which the Parties will collaborate to enable the assessment of the feasibility of such implementation.

By fostering greater collaboration between countries, EuroHeart will enhance the ability to deliver regular contemporary reporting on quality of care aligned with ESC guidelines, measure real-world clinical outcomes, drive quality improvement initiatives, provide robust data for guideline implementation, monitoring and development, and enable large-scale research.
