Focus on

Needs assessment and educational expected outcome:

The 2019 ESC Clinical Practice Gguidelines on the diagnosis and treatment of acute pulmonary embolism (PE) have been published. They provide detailed information and recommendations on management of PE including optimal diagnostic strategy, risk stratification, initial and long-term treatment. However, these guidelines need to be implemented into a daily clinical practice.

Learning objectives

After watching the webinar, participants will be able to:

  • diagnose and manage PE in special populations, with a special focus on COVID-19 patients and patients with cancer
  • deal with challenges in diagnosis, risk stratification and treatment
  • understand risk-adjusted management of PE in patients in the acute phase
