Focus on

Learning objectives

Understand the basics of cardiac cellular electrophysiology in order to assess and interpret current research and new developments in the field.

Expected outcome

Knowledge of and new developments in the field of cardiac cellular electrophysiology has expanded enormously in recent years.

The foundation of this field in Europe owes much to the work of Professor Edward Carmeliet, one of the founding fathers of the ESC Working Group on Cardiac Cellular Electrophysiology (EWGCCE).

As well as carrying out his original electrophysiology research, Professor Carmeliet has developed a keen interest in the history of the field and no one but him can speak with more authority on this subject.

The webinar will therefore make a unique contribution to the subject in addition to providing an educational overview of the basic principles of cardiac cellular electrophysiology.
