The European Society of Cardiology mourns the loss of one of its most inspiring champions who succumbed to COVID-19 on 27 March.
Maurizio Galderisi was Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Naples Federico II in Italy, and head of the Interdepartmental Laboratory of Echocardiography and the Programme of Cardiovascular Emergencies and Onco-haematologic Complications at the University Hospital. He was also Vice President of the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI).
