Technical recommendations
The Heart Failure 2021 platform is designed with a responsive interface that is mobile friendly but for an optimal experience, we recommend that you access the platform on a desktop computer.
Supported browsers
We support the most current versions of Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox. Chrome is the preferred browser.

- Zoom out on your web browser to see the full room view.
- If you are using Google Chrome:
- To zoom out – Simultaneously press Ctrl and – on your keyboard
- To zoom in – Simultaneously press Ctrl and + on your keyboard
- On Windows 10: to set screen zoom, right-click on your desktop and select Display settings from the popup menu. Zoom can be adjusted in the popup window.
- If you can’t hear a presentation: Ensure the volume on your computer speakers is turned up and that the sound is not muted. Using the button at the bottom left of the video, confirm the volume level.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) Credits and certificate of attendance
The EACCME® is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) www.uems.eu
How many CME credits can I receive?
Your participation to Heart Failure 2021 entitles you to a maximum of 17 CME Credits.
After the congress, you will receive one credit for each full hour you have spent online during the congress days from 29 June to 1 July. The maximum of credits per day will be defined by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Specialists (UEMS).
The certificate will be available after the congress and will be based on the tracked real time spent viewing scientific sessions from 29 June to 1 July, except for the informal sessions taking place in the Discussions Rooms (dates and times to be confirmed). Please be aware that any tracking blockers on your device or browser may prevent us from tracking your activity properly, with the result that the CME points will not be added on your certificate of attendance and cannot be claimed after the event.
How can I claim my certificate of attendance?
You will need to complete a short questionnaire to receive your certificate. The questionnaire and instructions will be sent to you after the congress.
To access your credits, please complete the EACCME evaluation form (mandatory).
To obtain your Heart Failure 2021 CME certificate, please log in to your MyESC account.
I practice in the United States of America / Canada: how can I claim credits?
Through an agreement between the European Union of Medical Specialists and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME® credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Information on the process to convert EACCME® credits to AMA credits can be found here.
Live educational activities occurring outside of Canada, recognised by the UEMS-EACCME® for ECMEC® credits, are deemed to be Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Faculty and presenters
Where can I find/watch my presentation again?
All presentations will be made available on-demand within 24 hours after broadcast except for the session 'Heart Failure 2021 Guidelines: Pharmacological treatment' that will be presented on Tuesday 29 June at 10:45 (CEST) and replayed on the same day at 20:55 (CEST). This session will not be available afterwards.
The rest of the content will be accessible on the congress platform until 15 July 2021 to all registered participants. HFA Members can access these same resources for a much longer period by logging in to their My ESC account.
How can I interact with viewers during the broadcast of my presentation?
A Forum is available to give speakers the opportunity to exchange directly with viewers. Your presence online in the Forum at the time of your presentation would be most appreciated.
To enter the Forum and interact with the audience:
- Connect to the platform on the day/time of your presentation
Please note, the times indicated are approximate, so we ask you to connect five minutes before and, if possible, plan to stay longer than your actual presentation to accommodate any unexpected delays in the broadcast. - During your presentation, you will see a Forum window on the side of the screen. Use the chat function to enter the Forum. Each of your posts will be identified with your name and country, allowing the audience to recognize your contribution.
The Forum is an area for scientific exchange rather than a questions and answers page.
Whom should I contact if I have another question?
- If you are an abstract or clinical case presenter, please contact: hfscientific@escardio.org
- If you are faculty, please contact: hfscientific@escardio.org
- For any other inquiries, please contact: hfsecretariat@escardio.org
