Abstract sessions

ESC Congress 2019

With over 4,500 original research selected from 11,318 submissions from 110 countries, you can expect the best worldwide science to be presented in Paris.

The abstract based-programme covering the entire spectrum of cardiovascular topics will be available early March once the abstracts grading is done.



Advances in Science

The combination of original research abstracts with renowned expert review and commentary on related topics.

These sessions will feature the top-rated abstracts in each topic, linking recent results with clinical care to guide future scientific investigations.

Oral Abstract Sessions

Traditional oral abstract presentations. Each abstract presentation will be followed by Questions and Answers.

Those sessions will be held in the Science Box rooms located in the Poster Area.

Rapid Fire abstracts

These fast-paced and interactive sessions will present key messages of ten original research abstracts.

Each presentation will be followed by a Questions & Answers discussion with the experts chairs and the audience.

These sessions will be held in dedicated rooms with a casual setting which will allow presenters and audience to carry on the discussions after the session.

Young Investigator Awards

Selected for the outstanding quality of their work, four Young Investigators will present their original research in front of a jury as they compete for prestigious ESC Awards.

The Awards will be focused on Basic Science, Clinical, Thrombosis, Population Sciences, Coronary Pathophysiology and Microcirculation, and new this year, Global Cardiovascular Health (Spotlight of the Congress).

ESC Named lectures will be presented just before the start of the Young Investigator Awards Session.

Nursing/Allied Professional Investigator Award

This award aims to recognise significant contributions from new investigators in cardiovascular nursing and allied professions at European level.

Moderated Posters

These sessions are composed of seven original top-rated abstracts which will be presented in electronic format.
The research will be presented and discussed by the first author and two moderators during the coffee breaks.

The audience is welcome to join in the discussion. Presenters are in competition for the "Best Moderated Poster" to win a free registration for next year's ESC Congress.
