Scientific & Educational Programme


These 90 minutes long sessions allow for in-depth discussions on developments and advances in the various fields of acute cardiovascular care – these sessions are structured around four to five presentations by experts.


Daily practice-oriented sessions: speakers will give highly interactive and educational presentations to be followed by intense discussions on controversial issues.

How to sessions

Provide practical, informative material and have a great educational value. Sessions focused on demonstration of techniques and practices by experts.

Joint sessions

To address topics directly with the experts, we are co-organising Joint Sessions with International, European and Local Associations. These sessions help to strengthen collaboration between EHRA and our partners in the field.

Live case transmissions will be broadcast allowing the audience to closely follow the procedures and benefit from the experience of the experts.

Each presentation will be followed by experts' interventions to highlight the relevance of the data presented and provide clear take home messages and to place the recent trials into perspective and measure the implications on clinical practice.

Highly interactive sessions where the audience can interact with the Chairpersons and Speakers via their Smartphones.

Highlight Session

An overview by experts of all the new and exciting developments in clinical and population sciences, presented at the Congress.

Special Track for Nurses & Allied Professionals: From Sunday to Tuesday

    Room capacity: 40 pax maximum (seats will be allocated on a first come first served basis).

  • Grants for Nurses and Allied Professionals delegates
    60 Grants worth 500€ will be given to a selection of Nurses and Allied Professionals delegates after the congress.
    To apply for a Grant, candidates must be:
    • EHRA Member in 2017
    • Registered for EHRA EUROPACE-CARDIOSTIM 2017
    • There is no age limit

Abstract-Based Sessions

Young Investigator Awards Abstracts

Selected for the outstanding quality of their work, Young Investigators will be competing in each session and present their original research in front of a jury. The awards will be focused on Basic Science, Clinical Science.

All finalists of the YIA competitions will be offered a free registration to help them come to EHRA EUROPACE-CARDIOSTIM 2017
First prize winners will receive a 1000€ prize
Runner-up positions (2nd & 3rd) will receive a 250€ prize

(The option "Young Investigator Award" must be selected during abstract submission.

  • Young Investigator Award Sessions are applicable to anyone 35 years and under or under 40 years old if you are still in training (Proof of your institution will be required)



The research will be presented in the poster session entitled “Best Abstracts”. The abstracts with the highest grades will be featured in a day session.

Rapid Fire - Oral abstract session

Fast paced and providing plenty of exchange between the audience and the presenter - this session comprises of presentations of the top 10 graded abstracts. Discussions will be led by experts chairing the session.

Moderated Poster sessions

The ideal platform to meet presenters, colleagues & peers in front of their research and discuss their findings. Presenters will discuss the content of their poster in front of chairperson and an appreciative audience during the coffee break.

Young EP Poster session

The area dedicated to the Young EP. These posters will be visited during the lunch break by discussants from the EP Young Committee In order to raise the profile of these posters, to stimulate informed discussion and to motivate scientific exchange amongst the young community.

Poster Sessions

Research is presented as a Poster - on display for half a day - to allow sufficient viewing time and interaction opportunities in this very dynamic and person to person format.  The place to meet colleagues and peers and specifically address issues related to your daily practice/field of interest/research.  The poster area is always given a central place in the congress centre to enhance the visibility of research presented.
