EHRA would like to pay tribute to Professor Gerard Guiraudon who recently passed away on 14 February 2019 at the age of 87.

guiraudon-gerard-2019.jpgProf. Gerard Guiraudon died peacefully on 14 February 2019 at the age of 87. For every electrophysiologist who knew him, Gerard Guiraudon, a cardiac surgeon, was an innovative research scientist who made massive contributions to the knowledge of modern electrophysiology. Gerard Guiraudon started his career in France and then moved to London, Canada in 1981. Until his last days, Gerard remained passionate and very active with his research and his colleagues all around the world. Gerard, a man who knew how to listen to others, was also greatly appreciated for his human characteristics, giving love and laughter to all around him. He was an expert in regatta sailing, a tremendous alpine skier and mountain biker.

The European Heart Rhythm Association and all the EP community offer our sincere condolences to his family and friends.
