Scientific programme

The Congress main theme this year is" Evidence based cardiovascular prevention, a lifelong endeavour".

The strength of the congress is found within the scientific & educational programme, the esteemed faculty members and the high quality abstracts presented by attendees over a three day period. EuroPrevent is a distinctive meeting because the Congress Programme Committee ensures that the content covers topics for allied health professions, general practitioners, policy makers, scientists and young researchers.

Case-based sessions

Clinical sessions bringing you the knowledge you expect in the most interactive and practical manner. These patient-oriented, case-based sessions are lead by experts and linked towards patient management covering practical and technical aspects of the topics proposed.

Debate sessions

Abstract-based Sessions

These sessions are based on original scientific contributions chosen after our call for abstracts. A unique opportunity for all to actively participate in the scientific programme.

Young Investigator Award Sessions

IMG_EuroPrevent_2017_YIA_Winners.jpgA competition designed for abstract presenters 35 years old or under.
Finalists will receive free registration to come to Ljubljana to present their research. They will be judged by a panel of experts who will determine a winner (€500 prize). The European Association of Preventive Cardiology (EAPC) puts great emphasis on presentations of young investigators, as they are the future of the field and to support young PHD's, peers and researchers from all continents.

Rapid Fire - Oral abstract sessions

Fast paced and providing plenty of exchange between the audience and the presenter. Two sessions comprised of 10 abstract presentations. Discussions will be led by experts chairing the session. Presenters will summarise their research in 5 slides and interact with the audience on the key messages.

Moderated poster sessions

EuroPrevent_2017_Moderated_poster.jpgResearch in a poster format, presented to an appointed moderator in front of an audience during the inter-session coffee breaks. Presenters are in competition for the "Best Moderated Poster" to win €200 prize. The audience is welcome to join in the discussion. 

Poster sessions

EuroPrevent_2017_Poster_session.jpgPosters consist of a visual display of the research in the form of a poster - Posters will be visited by dedicated senior scientists during the coffee breaks.
