Discover our Working Groups
Working Group on Adult Congenital Heart Disease
We improve the treatment of congenital heart disease to enable those with even complex congenital heart anomalies, to reach adulthood.
Working Group on Aorta & Peripheral Vascular Diseases
We promote an integrative understanding of the pathophysiology of ‘polyvascular disease’. We focus particularly on prevention, the development of new diagnostic and risk prediction tools, and the advancement of novel therapeutic modalities.
Working Group on Atherosclerosis & Vascular Biology
Guided by our mission to deepen understanding and improve care, we advance diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of atherosclerosis by connecting scientists and accelerating therapies that benefit patients.
Working group on Cardiac Cellular Electrophysiology
Our mission is to foster knowledge exchange in cellular electrophysiology. We connect European labs through joint research and visits, and support young scientists by encouraging new ideas and open discussion that drives innovation.
Working Group on Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy
Our mission is to advance cardiovascular health, by supporting all areas of cardiovascular pharmacology – from basic research and clinical trials to clinical application.
Working Group on Cardiovascular Regenerative and Reparative Medicine
We advance knowledge and develop therapies in cardiovascular regenerative and reparative medicine. We fosters global collaboration by uniting basic science and translational clinical research from leading centres worldwide.
Working Group on Cardiovascular Surgery
We promote greater interaction and cohesion between cardiac surgery and other cardiology communities, to deliver more efficient and effective patient care.
Working Group on Cellular Biology of the Heart
We unite a dynamic community of basic scientists and clinicians, we strive to identify novel therapeutic targets and drive translational research projects focused on treating heart disease.
Working Group on Coronary Pathophysiology & Microcirculation
We promote prevention and enhance the diagnosis and treatment of impaired coronary perfusion, we share expertise in coronary pathophysiology – from the large arteries to the terminal vessels.
Working Group on Development, Anatomy & Pathology
Guided by our mission to bridge scientific discovery and clinical practice, we bring together basic scientists and clinicians from diverse fields – including molecular and developmental biology, pathology, morphology, genetics, and cardiology – to champion the enduring value of clinic-pathologic correlation.
Working Group on e-Cardiology
We advance digital innovation in cardiovascular care, focusing on specialised computer methods including AI, image and signal processing, predictive modelling, e-health, mobile apps, and hospital communication systems.
Working Group on Myocardial & Pericardial Diseases
We improve diagnosis and treatment of heart muscle and pericardial disease, and promote understanding of these disorders among cardiologists, stimulating research and educational programmes throughout Europe.
Working Group on Myocardial Function
Our mission is to focus on the molecular, cellular and integrative mechanisms underlying cardiac function and dysfunction. We provide a platform for basic and clinically oriented scientists interested in all aspects of myocardial function.
Working Group on Pulmonary Circulation & Right Ventricular Function
We enhance knowledge and stimulate clinical research of pulmonary circulation and right ventricular function, and contribute to progress in basic science, translational and clinical research, plus continuing medical education.
Working Group on Thrombosis
Our mission is to enhance knowledge and stimulate clinical research of thrombosis in Europe and beyond. We contribute to promoting research, education, and best clinical practice in the field of thrombosis and haemostasis.
