ESC Core Curriculum

A CME Framework for the General Cardiologist

Central to education at the ESC is the development of a Core Curriculum.

The first stage of this project was the publication of the Core Syllabus in 2004; a framework of the clinical knowledge required by a general cardiologist.

Download your copy of the Core CurriculumThe Core Curriculum for the General Cardiologist, first published in 2006, expands on the syllabus by defining; teaching, learning and assessment methods. The Update 2008 is now available following consultation with all ESC Consituent Bodies.

The Core Curriculum intends to provide a framework for the continuing medical education of the general European Cardiologist.

The field of cardiology is ever evolving and the Core Curriculum must be reviewed and revised accordingly.  The ESC hopes that this second edition will continue to stimuate comment and feedback from the ESC's constituent bodies and membership to further evolve this important document.
