ESC Atherothrombosis Research Grants

This grant is aimed at European cardiologists under 36 years of age who wish to undertake original basic or applied/clinical research in the area of atherothrombotic diseases in a European centre of excellence for a maximum period of one year. Secondary research projects such as meta-analysis projects are excluded.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be under 36 years of age.
  • Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of countries in the European Union or ESC member countries.

Level of support

  • 3 awardees will be selected per year and each will receive 50,000 Euros.
  • The amount will be expected to cover a fellowship of a duration of 12 months.
  • A given individual will not be able to apply for more than one grant for the duration of the programme.

The funds must be used to support the awardees salary and the cost of consumables for the project but not equipment or other costs in the host institution.
