Imaging, especially echocardiography, plays a key role in structural, congenital and valvular heart disease interventions. Not only for the evaluation of the disease and selection of eligible patient for the intervention, but especially for guidance of the procedure and in follow-up after the intervention. Meeting endorsed by the European Association of Echocardiography (EAE)

CSI will give a comprehensive overview of major topics in catheter therapy of congenital and structural heart disease in adults and children. CSI is designed specifically for adult and pediatric interventionalists as well as cardiovascular surgeons and those colleagues of other specialties who want to get an update of these techniques.

The Congress will provide the opportunity for a comprehensive overview of the latest research developments in cardiovascular medicine, primarily in the areas of molecular biology, coronary artery disease, heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias and cardiac surgery.

The ESC Congress 2009 will be held in the Fira Gran Via, Plaza Europa, Barcelona, Spain

The 2009 EPCCS Annual scientific meeting will consist of a Clinical Masterclass where key areas in cardiovascular disease will be addressed such as: hypertension, lipid management, heart failure, obesity & cardiometabolic disease, diabetes, multiple risk management, lifestyle and guidelines.

The 2009 EACTA Echo Congress is divided into two parts. Part one will focus on, and prepare a candidate for the EACTA/EAE TOE Accreditation Examination. Part two will be an Advanced Echocardiography Course. It will focus on and more advanced aspects of perioperative echocardiography, and certain difficult decision making scenarios.

The Computers in Cardiology conference provides an international forum for scientific presentations focusing on computer applications in clinical cardiology and cardiovascular research.

As a tribute to the increasing role of developmental biology in the understanding and treatment of heart disease, the topic of "Ion channels in cardiac development, remodelling and ageing“ was chosen as this year´s thematic focus

5th Congress of Update in Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery

Approximately 36 Fellow places available. Final selection will be made by the Society's Seminar Committee. Nominees should normally be at the postgraduate level with residency training or its equivalent, and be interested in cardiovascular disease epidemiology. Location TBC.

This three and a half day course is intended for cardiologists, paediatric cardiologists, anesthesiologists, cardiac surgeons and sonographers

The main themes of VeniceArrhythmias 2009 will include atrial fibrillation, sudden death, electrical treatment of heart failure, syncope, sport and arrhythmias, surgery for cardiac arrhythmias, telecardiology, remote monitoring of devices, and role of cardiac imaging in electrophysiology.
