Past ESC congresses

The field of Cardiology has come to consider the European Society of Cardiology Annual Congress as one of the most important events in its calendar. The huge interest shown in the Congress is best reflected in the details given below. Growth is evident in all areas of Congress activities, attendance and requirements.

One of the World's largest events of its kind, the ESC Congress is usually held at the end of August or early in September. From London in 1952 to Vienna in 1988 the Congresses were held every four years. From 1988 onwards the Congress became an annual event.
