Treatment of HF: Integrating Pharmacology & Technology
Review treatment of congestion, a major unmet need in heart failure, as a main objective. Revisit biomarkers and guidelines oriented individual strategies for the most vulnerable patients. Confront your experience with the leading experts in the field of acute heart failure and optimisation of care for the most complex patients. Explore the recent advances in management of heart failure patients with diabetes, obesity, and ventricular arrhythmias. Translate the results of the latest randomised trials into clinically detectable improved outcomes for heart failure patients.
 
Co-morbidities and heart failure
Explore in-depth the topics of co-morbidities and heart failure - Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), diabetes, hypertension as well as include new areas such as cancer, cardio-renal syndrome through main sessions led by experts but also with the more practical angle of interactive educational sessions based on actual clinical cases.

Devices and Technology for heart failure in 2012

Discuss critical decision making in the role of ICD’s and CRT implantations and therapies. Review patient selection criteria for the use of implantable LVADs for heart failure treatment. Explore the developments of Telemonitoring and other monitoring management.
 
Education and Guidelines
Understand the management of patients with heart failure and be provided with guidelines to improve outcomes in the heart failure population with a practical application of the HFA guidelines to assist all heart failure professionals in their daily practice.
 
Basic Science, Basic Science translated for the clinician (ISHR, WG Myocardial Function)
When researchers meet and interact with clinicians to discuss the science that will lead tomorrow’s translational initiatives. Sessions aimed at researchers, PhD students and early career scientists as well as at clinicians and all health care providers.

Skills and Clinical practice - Training and educational track
Integration of pharmacology and technology in the era of personalised heart failure management will be the overarching theme of the programme. Variation of different session types covering all congress themes. 

Basic science translated for clinicians track
Sessions bridging the gap between Clinical and Basic Science. Research approach that seeks to move “from bench to bedside” or from laboratory experiments through clinical trials to actual point-of-care patient applications.

Basic science track
An extensive Basic Science Programme build of sixteen sessions. Experts in the field will cover topics which are central for the most significant and fast-moving research areas.

Local language track
Six sessions held in Serbo-Croatian only (no translation available).

Sessions with presentations from you - to you. These sessions will feature top graded abstract selected for their high quality content.

Ninety minutes long sessions in which renowned experts present state of the art reviews on all aspects of heart failure with special time allocated for panel discussions to assure the interaction with the audience.

Clinical interactive case-based sessions - HFA focus -
Discussions around practical cases by the experts who will call upon the audience in regards to the management of the case. Sessions will be concluded by recommendations based on new ESC guidelines on the diagnosis & treatment of heart failure.  

Debate sessions
Lively yet balanced discussion on controversial issues - an effective way to present opposing / different views about a topic. Come and listen to th earguments!
