FCVB Barcelona 2014: the best and most novel cardiovascular science

Professor Lina Badimon, FCVB 2014 ChairpersonOn behalf of the Council on Basic Cardiovascular Science of the European Society of Cardiology, the ESC Working Groups and European Sister Societies, I am pleased to invite you to attend FCVB 2014 in Barcelona.

Our third Frontiers in CardioVascular Biology meeting is being shaped after the two previous successful experiences of Berlin and London. The Core Scientific Committee, the Programme Committee and the Local Organising Committee take pleasure in organising a meeting that will bring the best and most novel cardiovascular science to participants. We will especially focus on fostering the needs of younger attendees by stimulating scientific exchange, oral presentations, travel grants and special social functions.

Barcelona is an open, dynamic and stylish Mediterranean city with a unique, friendly atmosphere that invites you to enjoy life in a unique culture with a thriving environment. Barcelona, the city of design, large promenades, and blue sea has been a melting pot of cultures and witness to many transformations and revolutions over its 2,000 year history. Barcelona has become in recent years a hub for international business, biomedical and medical sciences and biotechnology. The FCVB delegates will be able to enjoy an excellent scientific meeting in a warm, hospitable and enchanting city.

The FCVB 2014 venue, the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya, is conveniently located beside the University of Barcelona campus and is connected by subway and buses to the city centre. A wide range of hotels and restaurants are available in the city spanning all budgets.

We have prepared an exciting and integrated cardiovascular science meeting, offering a unique programme which covers the whole basic cardiovascular spectrum, with care and appreciation for your scientific and personal enjoyment.

I look forward to welcoming you in my city.
