The Congress Programme Committee would like to thank all the Abstract Reviewers for their time spent grading the thousands of abstracts received for ESC Congress 2013. Thanks to their dedication we can be sure the abstract programme represents new and original work of real scientific merit.

Thank you also to the hundreds of submitters for their contribution to the scientific programme.

More than 4 000 abstracts will be presented during ESC Congress starting on Saturday 31 August.

What are the next steps?

Confirm presentation for your accepted abstracts before 31 May 2013.
STEP 1	Login to the abstract results page (abstract presentation time and format are noted here) to confirm presentation for your accepted abstracts. (To log-in use the same username and password that you used to submit the abstract)
STEP 2	Select / Assign presenter and confirm presenter's contact details (Please make sure you enter presenter's valid contact details)
STEP 3	Presenter selected in step 2 will receive instructions by email to submit agreement form. (This agreement form should be submitted as soon as possible to ensure the abstract information is accurate in the final programme and abstract publication)
Next Steps:
31 May	All presenters must register for the congress. Register before 31 May 2013 and save € 280
5 June	Deadline to apply for the travel grants from the Council on Cardiovascular Nursing and Allied Professions (CCNAP Members only)
15 June	Deadline to apply for the travel grants from the Council for Basic Cardiovascular Science
August	Prepare your abstract presentation: Review presenters guidelines

Clinical Cases from the ESC Cardiologists of Tomorrow (CoT)

We would like to thank all contributors who sent in their clinical cases for consideration. More than 400 Clinical Cases submitted this year ! Cases from 53 countries accross the continents.
Selection is now complete and we invite you all to join us in The Hub, located in Central Village, for the clinical cases sessions and discussions which will ensue. Drop by the discussion forum and participate in these exciting interactive sessions.

Next Steps:

29 April 2013: Case results. An email was sent to the case submitters. Case selection and session assignment will be available online.

31 May 2013: Deadline to submit clinical case agreement form.
31 May 2013: Registration deadline: all clinical case presenters have registered for the Congress using the link provided in the invitation letter.

Clinical Cases Session Programme

Challenging case session

The four best cases selected by the nucleus of CoT will be presented in a special session entitled "Discussing the most challenging clinical cases: the heart interacting with organs, catheters and devices " on Monday 2 September 14:00-15:30 in The Hub Tunis in Central Village

The ESC will give a prize of € 2 000 to the best case presentation while the 3 other finalists will each receive € 1 000.

The winner will be selected by the Chairpersons and panelist of the session on the following criteria: Originality - Scientific content - Presentation - Answers to questions

11:00-12:30 Electrical problems - look for the underlying truth
Sunday 1 September
11:00-12:30 A mass inside your heart: don't forget the unexpected
14:00-15:30 Cath lab disasters - the interventionalists' nightmares!
16:30-18:00 Acute coronary syndrome - thinking beyond the plaque
Tuesday 3 September
08:30-10:00 New invasive therapies and devices: reality or science fiction?
11:00-12:30 Systemic disease - the heart as a victim

Also , not to be missed a dedicated programme for and by the Cardiologists of Tomorrow

Submissions are now closed, the applications are currently being reviewed.
Results will be announced by mid-June

Hot Lines:

Hot Lines are sessions reserved for first presentations of the endpoint(s) of recently completed clinical trials.

Hot Lines applications should contain data of a recently completed clinical trial which has not been presented anywhere previously.

Clinical Trial & Registry Updates:

Clinical Trial & Registry Updates are sessions open for new data or analyses of trials or registries not yet presented at previous meetings.

CT&RU applications should report additional, but unrepresented, analysis of important clinical trials or registries whose main endpoints have recently been made public.

Basic and Translational Science Hot Line:

This session will present the latest and "hottest" findings of studies in basic and translational cardiovascular science; including cellular, molecular and genetic research and functional studies in genetically engineered mice and larger mammals.
