EuroPCR 2009

An outstanding 10,177 practitioners from all over the world attended the 2009 edition of EuroPCR, the official congress of The European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions  from 19-22nd May 2009 in Barcelona, Spain.

A key message, found throughout the programme was «Do it for the patients».  Read the editorial co-signed by Jean Marco FESC, William Wijns FESC and Patrick W. Serruys FESC and learn more about the goal of EuroPCR – to be the leader in professional education.

Learning the techniques

For the third year running, these educative sessions were extremely popular and covered coronary, carotid and patent foramen ovale/atrial septal defect percutaneous interventions, with live case transmissions and Live in-a-box.

Late Breaking Trials 2009

These highly popular and well attended sessions began with the Tuesday session chaired by William Wijns FESC and Ran Kornowski FESC. Learn more

Live in-a-box

More than just a live, this brand new concept is a mix of live cases, data, dialogues and pre-defined questions. The concept was one of the novelties at EuroPCR 2009 and can be summarised as follows «the excitement of a live case coupled with the most up-to-date data on the subject».

Abstracts at EuroPCR

For the first time in the history of the Course, abstracts were included in the programme. 564 abstracts were received and over 250 were integrated as part of the programme, and published in the first edition of the EuroIntervention abstract book. Read more

Forum

2 forum – 2 hot topics! Transcatheter aortic valve implantation and coronary bifurcation lesions attracted many attendees, with enthusiastic audience participation.  Find a summary on these two sessions in the form of keypoints on the Wednesday and Thursday Daily versions
