| Tricuspid valve: a valve not to be forgotten Left side heart valve pathology often is accompanied by significant tricuspid regurgitation (TR) which does not always reverse with its correction. The new European guidelines recommend surgery on the tricuspid valve of these patients if TR is severe or provided the annulus is ≥40mm or ≥21mm/m², independently of the regurgitation.
