ESC Council on Basic Cardiovascular Science

Basic Research Fellowship

Silvia Cellone TrevelinCongratulations to Silvia Cellone Trevelin, first awardee of the fellowship. Silvia, from Brazil, will use the 25,000 Euro fellowship to carry out her research project in the Cardiovascular Division of King's College, London University. She will present her work at the Frontiers in CardioVascular Biology scientific meeting in Barcelona, 4-6 July 2014. Read more on the Basic Research Fellowship here.

Basic Science Summer School, 16-20 June 2013, Sophia Antipolis, France

The course objectives include:                         

  • Inspire a new generation of basic cardiovascular science leaders taken from among the most gifted science and medical graduates
  • Provide opportunities to meet face-to-face role models from an expert faculty of successful cardiovascular scientists
  • Give examples of how cardiovascular science has advanced in key areas and has impacted on clinical practice

The scientific activities of the European Society of Cardiology depend upon research in the domain of basic cardiovascular science.

The Council on Basic Cardiovascular Science was created in September 2004 to enhance the importance of basic science to clinical cardiology.
