e-Cardiology
Performing and supporting research in Cardiology and ICT, in collaboration with other ESC Groups
The scope of the ESC Working Group e-Cardiology encompasses the wide area of specialised computer methods in cardiovascular image processing (quantitative angiography, IVUS, echocardiography, MR), image fusion, biosignal processing (ECG analysis, arrhythmia detection), signal modelling, databases, and intra- and inter-hospital communication (internet, telemedicine, IHE).
The Working Group provides the perfect infrastructure for scientists from various fields (engineers, physicists and physicians) to interact on new topics and new applications of information technology in cardiology.
The Working Group is highly interdisciplinary. In addition to genuine research efforts of the members, the group provides services to other ESC Working Groups.
Dr. Enno VAN DER VELDE, FESC
Chairman 2010-2012 |

For the first time in its history, EHRA EUROPACE 2013 will be jointly conducted by EHRA and two very prominent Working Groups of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), the WG on Cardiac Cellular Electrophysiology and the WG on e-Cardiology. This unique partnership emphasises the multidisciplinary and translational approach in modern electrophysiology, in the diagnosis and therapy of arrhythmias and conduction disturbance.
