    Objectives:

    To facilitate and encourage multidisciplinary heart failure care in Europe. We aim to achieve this by:

    • Educational meetings and development of curricula.
    • Publications relating to delivery of heart failure care
    • Facilitating research
    • Resource for patient care

    Priorities

    • Publishing: publication imminent for 2 papers
    • Nurse Training grant for PhD students
    • Run an Educational Course in 2012:Delivering patient care in heart failure: an update
    • Research activity on the flu vaccine with national heart failure societies
    • Work on the Training Programme for heart failure nurses

    Papers

    • A scientific statement on Palliative Care in Heart Failure has been published by the HFA (Eur J Heart Fail. 2009 May;11(5):433-443). The document is the outcome of the HFA Workshop on Palliative Care in Heart Failure, held in November 2007, an initiative of the former HFA Study Group on Advanced Heart Failure.
