Clinical Electrophysiology with emphasis on Catheter Ablation

Training Fellowships Programme

The Application process will be opened from 15 September to 15 December 2010

Thanks to financial support from Biosense Webster and Biotronik, the EHRA is proud to offer this year again a unique opportunity for individuals and centres
.

Individuals

EHRA Training Fellowships are offered to give physicians the opportunity to gain specialised training in clinical electrophysiology (EP) in a regular ESC Member Country or ESC Affiliated National Societies, preferably outside their home country.

Physicians need to have completed their cardiology training but not yet obtained a consultant or equivalent permanent status.

This training fellowship aims at promoting the development of academic medicine in the field of clinical electrophysiology with emphasis on catheter ablation:

  • For physicians new to clinical electrophysiology (EP): the two-year programme is designed to provide advanced theoretical and practical knowledge in the fields of diagnostic EP studies and catheter ablation of simple arrhythmias.
  • For physicians with more extensive experience in electrophysiology (EP): the one-year Training Fellowship will deal with advanced mapping diagnosis and ablation of complex substrates, amongst other topics.

Centres

A unique approach to the EHRA Training Fellowship is that the association is pleased to offer training centres the opportunity to apply and participate in the programme. Preference will be given to centres that already have an active fellowship programme and perform a minimum number of catheter ablations each year.

Application

The Training Fellowship Committee will review applications from both - individuals and centres - and provide the best suitable match to ensure a successful collaboration during the duration of the training fellowship.

All applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of a regular ESC Member Country or ESC Affiliated National Societies.
If you wonder whether you are a citizen or permanent resident of an :

  • ESC affiliated national societies, please check here

Rules and Regulations, as well as the Application Forms for the 2011 Programmes in Clinical Electrophysiology will be available from September 2010.
