EAPCI endorses the Women in Innovations Initiative (WIN)
Topics:
Invasive Imaging: Cardiac Catheterisation and Angiography
Date:
10 Oct 2011
The Board of the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI), a registered branch of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) is very pleased to inform you that it decided to endorse the
Women in Innovations (WIN) Initiative
.
This Initiative was launched by the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions (SCAI) and is chaired by Prof Roxana Mehran and Dr Alaide Chieffo. WIN is a world-wide effort devoted to improving the overall approach to the medical treatment of women with cardiovascular disease, as well as increasing the quality and scope of professional opportunities offered to female interventional cardiologists.
As part of our support to this initiative, we encourage all healthcare professionals involved in interventional cardiology to participate in a WIN-developed
radiation safety survey.
The survey was designed by WIN members in an effort to better understand the radiation risks posed to female and male cath lab operators and staff
. WIN aims to use the survey results to publish a subsequent report.
