Atrial Septal Defects

3D Atlas - Congenital Heart Disease

In patients with interatrial septal defect, we could evaluate on RT-3DE the location, size, configuration, type and motion of the defect, as well as the spatial relations of the defect with the neighboring structures, from either the left or the right side of the septum.

Atrial septal defect. The arrow points to the defect. Left panel, oblique coronal (frontal) section viewed from the right atrium. Right panel, an en-face view of the right surface of the interatrial septum enables better understanding of the shape and size of the defect, and its dynamic changes during cardiac cycle. LA, left atrium; RA, right atrium; RV, right ventricle; TV, tricuspid valve
