Aims & Activities

Objectives of the Working Group on Myocardial and Pericardial Diseases:

1. To promote and organise epidemiological, clinical and genetic research in the field of:
   • cardiomyopathies,
   • myocarditis,
   • inflammatory cardiomyopathies,
   • unusual cardiomyopathies,
   • pericarditis,
   • tumors of the heart and pericardium,
   • systemic autoimmune and genetic diseases with myocardial involvement.
2. To promote educational programs within the Working Group and organise educational meetings on thematic topics.
3. To promote the participation of members of the Working Group to the ESC activities.
4. To contribute to the organisation and preparation of the annual ESC Congress and to participate and support other scientific meetings and symposia.
5. To hold regular meetings of the Working Group
6. To arrange Task Forces dealing with pertinent issues and publish appropriate guidelines and recommendations of good clinical practice.
