The National Working Groups Conference - Romania

Cardiologists of Tomorrow meeting in RomaniaThe Romanian Young Cardiologists Group, an initiative inside the Romanian Society of Cardiology, started off in September 2011, after the Annual National Congress of Cardiology, with the intent of offering a platform for communication and education to young cardiologists in training.

Currently, the Group is led by a nucleus of 7 members with the goal of reaching 10 members that would represent all the important University Centers in the country. One of the Group’s first educational activities was organizing a “How to?” symposium during the National Working Groups Conference in May, in Poiana Brasov. The symposium was dedicated to basic research teaching and covered topics like “How to write an abstract, a project or an original paper?” It was received very well by the young and not so young doctors and was a real success.

For the future, the main goal of the group is to increase its number of members and cities represented and as further educational projects, to organize a workshop type summer school and also a short term exchange program for residents between different University Hospitals in Romania.
