As a result of the European Summit on CVD Prevention, a call for action has been issued by the Joint European Societies Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Committee encouraging European countries to pursue the creation of a heart healthy environment through various actions at a national level.

- Ensure of the implementation of the European Heart Health Charter and the European Guidelines on CVD Prevention
- Ensure equal access to efficient health care structure for CVD Prevention and Rehabilitation, adapted to individual CVD risk profile, throughout Europe
- Secure the adoption of the European Heart Health Charter and the creation of multidisciplinary alliances of policy makers and health professionals in each European country by end of 2010.
