Our mission: to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease in Europe

Welcome to the Initiatives section

European Hear for Children In Europe today, children born with congenital malformation do not have equal access to appropriate care and, in some cases, the range of disparity is important. To help remedy to that situation, the European Society of Cardiology is supporting the European Heart for Children.
HeartScore HeartScore: cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk assessment and management The interactive tool for predicting and managing the risk of heart attack and stroke in Europe. Updated according to the latest European Guidelines on CVD Prevention, HeartScore now includes relative risk for younger patients, in addition to patient data history and progress monitoring.
EuroAction EUROACTION set to change the face of preventive cardiology. It's the largest demonstration project in preventive cardiology that aims to improve heart health across Europe with emphasis on nurse-led team and family support.
CARDS The purpose of the CARDS (Cardiology Audit and Registration Data Standards) project, which was developed by the Irish Department of Health and Children in partnership with the European Commission and the ESC, was to identify data to be collected in clinical cardiology practice for use in institutional, national and international registries, for quality insurance (audit) and international comparison of health care processes and outcomes.
Women at Heart The Women at Heart initiative was launched by the ESC in 2005, to highlight to medical professionals the growing burden and under-appreciation of women’s heart disease and promote improved handling of women at risk of cardiovascular disease in clinical practice.
