The case

Carlo S. is a 65-year-old male with a history of myocardial infarction. Weighing 89kg for 172 cm, his last records show a blood pressure at 145/92mmHg, a total cholesterol at 180 mg/dl and a level for glycated haemoglobin at 8.4 %. He has suffered from type 2 diabetes (T2DM) for 10 years. As medication, Carlo uses metformin 1g/day, beta-blocker, statin, antiplatelet, ACE inhibitor.
