Eligible are investigators involved in basic research who have recently established themselves as independent investigators, typically less than 45 years old. They have sustained outstanding productivity over several years, resulting in a significant contribution to their chosen field. They are expected to continue a successful career. Candidates must be members of one of the 8 ESC Working Groups* of the CBCS.
Candidates can apply directly to the CBCS. At the time of application, formal eligibility criteria will be checked: age and ESC membership must be stated in the cover letter. The full application to be evaluated should consist of a bio-sketch of:
- 2 pages maximum describing recent contributions and achievements
- a page highlighting the 5 most important publications
- 2 names of referees, one from their own institution and one external.
Candidates must attend the ESC Congress 2012 to receive their Award and confirm this commitment; partial exemption of the Congress fee will be offered to allow Awardees to receive their award.
The selection committee will consist of members of the CBCS.
Deadline for application is May 15, 2012. Applicants will be notified of the outcome by mid-July 2012.
