Week 1: Optimal medical treatment following acute coronary syndrome anno 2024 Learning objective: to understand what has changed in the field of post-ACS antithrombotic therapy; an update following the current guidelines. |
Week 2: ICU management after cardiac arrest: what do we know? Learning objective: What is the "optimal" post-arrest management in ICU; an insight from key recent hallmark trials. |
Week 3: Cardiogenic shock: definition and escalation to Mechanical Circulatory Support Learning objective: When to use which device, in which patient, and what escalation and de-escalation strategies are appropriate in the acute management of cardiogenic shock. |
Week 4: Haemodynamic monitoring on the ICU in cardiogenic shock patients Learning objective: Continuous bedside monitoring of critically ill cardiac patients in the ICU is crucial in managing medicated- and MCS-supported cardiogenic shock patients: a practical overview. |
Week 5: Cardiac imaging on the ICU in cardiogenic shock patients Learning objective: Bedside echocardiography is the cornerstone in the management of cardiogenic shock patients and in the adequate positioning and correct functioning and weaning of MCS devices. Here we provide a practical overview of available data. |
