ESC Administrative Centres

Located in Sophia Antipolis, France, and Brussels, Belgium 

The European Society of Cardiology has two administrative centres.

  • The European Heart House in Sophia Antipolis, France, is the ESC's administrative headquarters, serving as a centre for educational courses, ESC meetings and other gatherings.
  • The Brussels Office is the hub in Belgium supporting activities related to advocacy and EU policy. It also hosts meetings and networking events for healthcare stakeholders.

societe.jpgThe European Heart House (EHH) is located in the beautiful technology park of Sophia Antipolis, within the borders of the commune of Biot, in the south of France between Nice and Cannes. The EHH also offers the best in terms of conference facilities.

Brussels Office 

brussels-office.jpgThe European Society of Cardiology opened its Brussels office in February 2013, close to the European Parliament complex.

 
The ESC engages in constant dialogue with EU and national policymakers, as well as European multi-stakeholder advocacy groups, to make cardiovascular health a public health priority with relevant action and funding support.

 
The Brussels office can accommodate board meetings, scientific events and webinars, among other needs.

Gender Equality Index

The “Gender Equality Index” (“Index de l’Egalité professionnelle” in French) is an initiative of the French Government aiming at measuring gender equality and improving transparency.

All companies with +50 employees must calculate their score out of 100 points through 4 indicators.

On 28/02/2024, the ESC publishes its Gender Equality Index, for the calendar year 2023: 93/100 points 

 

  • Gender pay gap, for comparable jobs and age groups: 38 points / 40
  • Pay rises awarded to women in comparison with men, whether they come with promotions or are personal raises:  35 points / 35
  • Percentage of female employees given a pay rise on returning from maternity leave: 15 points / 15
  • Number of women and men in the top ten pay grades: 5 points / 10
