Dear Members,
Even though the delta variant is spreading, the increase in the vaccination campaign and warm temperatures are keeping the virus under control, at the moment. The HFA conference June 29-July 1 in Firenze has been almost entirely virtual, but at least the HFA Board and a few Faculty could enjoy meeting again in Firenze after more than one year. We had some very interesting basic and Translational Science sessions, with talks from some of our Nucleus members, abstracts sessions and Young Investigator Awards. Importantly, there were more than 8,000 registrations, the largest number ever in the HFA congresses. The previous record belonged to the 2016 HFA congress in Firenze, in presence, of course (more than 6,000). Hopefully next May Madrid will host an in presence-congress again.
Now it’s time to get ready for the ESC 2021 digital conference. Here we highlight a few sessions which we believe will be of utmost interest for our WG community.
