ESC Working Group on e-Cardiology

Dear members of the ESC Working Group on e-Cardiology,

It is with great pleasure that I send you an update on the activities of our working group (WG) along with a selection of recommended readings on various topics.

Our WG organizes the first online educational event on January 14, 16.00 to 17.00 (CET) with the title: “Wearable technology in cardiovascular medicine: an update”. Register!

The ESC Digital Summit 2021 (22-24 October) proved to be a unique digital experience which combined short talks, symposia, discussion panels, and technology demonstrations, in an innovative way showing how cardiology is modernizing to face the challenges of a post-pandemic world.

After this period of disruption, EHRA 2022 goes “Back to the Rhythm” from 3 to 5 April in Copenhagen, Denmark and online. EHRA 2022 will be a unique opportunity to access state-of-the-art lectures, debates, abstract presentations, live cases and practical workshops that will cover all aspects of arrhythmias, pacing and electrophysiology. All WG members are invited to submit abstracts (until Wednesday, 5 January 2022) within the topic of e-Cardiology/ Digital Health. Best abstracts will be selected and presented during an “Best oral e-Cardiology Award session”. All finalists will be granted a free congress registration for EHRA 2022, while the winners will get an additional free registration for EHRA 2023.

The Frontiers in Cardiovascular Biomedicine 2022 (FCVB) meeting is going to be a fully in-person event from 29 April to 01 May 2022, in Budapest, Hungary. This event is designed to be cross-disciplinary to emphasise underlying scientific developments important to cardiovascular biology and to highlight interconnections with new areas of research. Abstracts submission deadline is 13 December 2021.

The European Heart Journal - Digital Health is an Open Access, peer-reviewed journal, with a specific focus on digital health in cardiovascular medicine, connecting physicians with biomedical engineers, researchers, and allied health professionals. Submit online.

On behalf of the entire WG Nucleus I wish to express the hope that despite the current difficult times we are going through, we can stay well and still be in touch with our loved ones during the Seasonal Holidays.

Polychronis Dilaveris, MD, PhD, FESC
Chairperson ESC WG on e-Cardiology 2020-2022
