Dear Members,

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of everyone in the nucleus of our working group I would like to wish you happy new year! We hope that 2019 will be enjoyable and filled with success for all our friends and colleagues in the WG-DAP.

We want to make some progress this year - especially setting up our Young Community and also with raising awareness of the high quality science we all do.

As Chairperson of the ESC Working Group on Development, Anatomy and Pathology, I am happy to announce that the next Annual Meeting of our WG will take place in my hometown Málaga (Spain) from October 14th to October 16th, 2019. We are working to build up an exciting scientific program but, as usual, your contribution as members of our WG community will be instrumental to the success of the meeting. We will provide you with further details on relevant dates for this event soon, but please start thinking about your abstracts and mark the dates in your diaries.

I would also like to remind you of two important issues we highlighted in the previous WG Newsletter:

Firstly, please encourage your lab members to join our Working Group and our directory. It is particularly important for us that our younger members do this in order to vote in the Young Community elections. To joint the directory, please log-in to 'MyESC' and follow these instructions:

  1. In the dropdown menu under your name/ ESC ID click on “my directory profile”
  2. Under the section "My directories" (left menu) click on 'WG on Development, Anatomy & Pathology Members directory'
  3. Click 'join directory' and make sure to update your profile.

Secondly, it is very important for the dissemination of our research that you send our Web Editor, Bill, the title and DOI of each paper that you publish, so that we can put them in the Newsletter and on our website. Please, consider also proposing a “paper of the month” from the recently published literature you would like to write a commentary about for publication in this newsletter - just email Bill if you have any questions.

 Best wishes,

J.M. Pérez-Pomares
