ESC Working Group on Development, Anatomy and Pathology news

Cardiovascular Development and Anatomy
ESC Working Groups
Pathophysiology and Mechanisms

Dear Colleagues,

Spring has arrived and the ESC Working Group on Development, Anatomy and Pathology welcomes the new season with news of some exciting projects for this year:

Firstly, registration and abstract submission to our WG-DAP Annual Meeting is open. This year our meeting will be held in my home town of Málaga (Spain) from 14th-16th October, 2019. The program is nearly finalised and has something for everyone! I am very much looking forward to seeing your posters and hearing your oral presentations.

Secondly, at the recent ESC Spring Summit, I discussed the possibility of making closer links with other ESC working groups. This is important to WG-DAP as our science is relevant for many different areas of cardiology. I am exploring the possibility of writing some joint consensus papers or submitting joint session proposals for the ESC scientific meetings with our working group family. I will keep you informed about these efforts over the next few months.

Thirdly, we are planning to launch our WG-DAP Young Community in the next couple of months. There are a few organisational hurdles to jump, but we are jumping, and expect to have the WG-DAP YC in action well before Malaga. More news in the next email.

With these things in mind, please can you make sure you have confirmed your DAP-WG membership and asked your colleagues to do so - especially the ones under 40 years of age.

I have had several contributions to the newsletter - but we need more, so send me news of your publications. This month I have made a commentary about YAP signalling in regeneration. If you would like to write a commentary get in touch. See you soon.

Best wishes,

J.M. Pérez-Pomares

Chairperson of the ESC Working Group on Development, Anatomy and Pathology
