Dear colleges,
We hope that this newsletter finds you all in good health and ready to join the ESC Congress 2021 - The Digital Experience, Friday 27th - Monday 30th of August.
Unfortunately, COVID-19 variants made for the second time impossible for us to see each other and sit one by one, following interesting sessions in congress halls. Instead, we will enjoy it from the security of our home and work environment.
First of all, we urge you not to miss the Young Investigator Awards Session in Coronary Pathophysiology and Microcirculation, to be held on August 29th, at 08:00 AM. Under the jury of Dimitris Tousoulis, Teresa Padro, Dirk Duncker, Filipo Crea and Tomasz Guzik, the four finalists: Hidenobu Takagi, Christos Kotanidis, Martin Reindl and Jonathan Dahl will present their works.
Further on in our newsletter, you will find the top five recommended sessions that we made for you, that we believe will arouse your interest.
Although this e-letter is all about the ESC Congress 2021, our other scientific activities over the past period were dedicated to the work on the PRE-SCOPE proposals for the upcoming ESC Congress 2022, submitting seven proposals, all from our field of interest.
Finally, we are happy to announce that The ESC Working Group on Coronary Pathophysiology & Microcirculation Position paper on: Functional and structural adaptations of the coronary macro- and micro-vasculature to regular aerobic exercise by activation of physiological, cellular and molecular mechanisms, has been accepted for publication in Cardiovascular Research.
Stay alert, above all stay safe and healthy and enjoy the ESC Congress 2021 - The Digital Experience.
On behalf of the Working Group nucleus,
Dimitris Tousoulis, Chairperson 2020-2022
Marija Vavlukis, Communication Coordinator 2020-2022
