Dear members,
Summer is here but the situation remains uncertain, making it difficult to plan work and personal activities. Nevertheless, I hope that our members have been able to (partly) return to work and continue their research in one way or the other.
Unfortunately, our annual meeting had to be cancelled, but preparations have already started for the next meeting in 2021.
We also hope to meet each other online at the ESC Congress 2020 at the end of August; we have proposed some excellent sessions for our members and encourage everyone to register and attend.
The EWGCCE Nucleus members have also been busy writing a Position Paper on experimental models for cardiac electrophysiology research, which we hope to be able to share with our community soon.
In September, we will welcome our newly (re-)elected Nucleus members Dan Johnson, Elisa Passini, Jose Jalife, Marketa Bebarova, and Morten Thomsen. Congratulations to all, and I look forward to working together!
This is my last editorial as Chair of our WG. Next month, I will be handing over to Ana María Gómez who will be assisted by our incoming Chair-Elect Jordi Heijman. I have very much enjoyed the last two years, and it was an honour to represent our WG.
I am saddened by the fact that I was not able to welcome you all to Amsterdam for our annual meeting, but I feel grateful for our wonderful community in these uncertain times.
