ESC Working Group on Aorta & Peripheral Vascular Diseases

Dear friends, dear colleagues,

This is our first newsletter of the new working year.

We are coming back from a successful, encouraging and motivating meeting, the ESC congress in Paris. It was the first joined meeting with the World Congress of Cardiology and it was overwhelming to see how many people worldwide are encouraged and motivated to join us.

For me personally it was really encouraging to see so many young physicians to be there from different countries and continents!

We as a WG were well represented. The attendance of our sessions was really great, showing the increasing interest of the topics we are standing for. In the format of a joint manner we have been involved in 10 sessions, which is an increasing number over the years!

Besides that new guidelines have been presented, and in a considerable number of these members from our WG have been involved either as authors or reviewers, and this was the case in the majority of the new guidelines presented, which should make as proud!

This should encourage us all to join forces after a relaxing summer for the upcoming activities of the next year!

On behalf of the Working Group Nucleus

Marianne Brodmann
