ESC Working Group on Adult Congenital Heart Disease

Dear members of the Working Group on Adult Congenital Heart Disease,

Thanks to the success of the vaccination campaign, the Covid19 pandemic seems to start to subside in the European countries and this has allowed the first in-person meeting of our ACHD community for the last 2 years. In September 24-25th, the ACHD Academy Update LIVE has taken place in the beautiful city of Split, Croatia. Local host, Prof. Margarita Brida and the organizing committee must be congratulated for a very well-organized event at the highest scientific level and for providing the long-awaited opportunity for social interaction after the devastating pandemic. It has been a memorable meeting for all the attendees.

Also recently, during the ESC Congress 2021 -The Digital Experience, four new ESC Guidelines were presented: Cardiovascular Disease Prevention, Valvular Heart Disease, Cardiac Pacing and Heart Failure. Although not directly applicable, all of them are of paramount importance for the care of our patients with congenital heart disease.

Now the Working Group is focusing on the organization of our next in-person meeting, EuroACHD (formerly EuroGUCH) 2022 to be held in Rotterdam on 12-13 April 2022. Save the date!

Looking forward to meeting you again soon,

On behalf of the Working Group nucleus,

Laura Dos.  Communication Coordinator of the ACHD Working Group 2020-2022.
