The responsibility of the medical science liaison (MSL) will be educating the general cardiologists (GC) to understand transcatheter mitral & tricuspid therapies focusing on diseases, diagnosis, patient selection & outcome using deep scientific knowledge and clinical understanding. The MSL’s role is to bridge the gap in terms of education focusing on MR & TR disease, TR diagnosis, new treatment options and addressing the questions related to transcatheter options related to patient selections and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:Deliver scientific education to key clinicians (GCs & others) about mitral and tricuspid diseases and medical devices treatment options. Provide medical and scientific information to response to KOLs’ questions using deep scientific knowledge and clinical understandingLead meetings with key opinion leaders (KOLs) to discuss relevant scientific literature and make educational presentations with clinical trial data. Support the preparation of the referral meetingsBuild peer-to peer relationship with the KOLsFeed key information back to EU therapy development team to help develop relevant materials, refine go-to-market strategy and support the development of advisory boardsTrain the field teams on relevant clinical knowledge and scientific communicationRemain current on scientific knowledge, maintaining knowledge of mitral and tricuspid diseases coordinating activities with other field personnel in territoryEducation and Experience:MD or PHD degrees linked to a cardiology field. Recent experience as an MSL in heart failure fieldNative in German & fluent in English, written and verbal. Additional European language a plus.Additional Skills:Scientific expertise in the heart failure areaExcellent communication and presentation skills with the HCP audience. Ability to adapt the style to meet the needs of different audience – business focus v.s. scientific focusNetworking skills and the confidence to interact with senior experts on a peer-to-peer levelCritical data analysis skillsProactive, action and results oriented.Teamwork skills and an ability to work effectively with a variety of colleaguesCan-do attitude, positive outlook, business acumen
